If you have never used our materials before then we highly recommend starting with whitemorph. This offers the best value for money, outstanding properties and boiling a kettle is the ideal water temperature for quick, easy melting.
It is highly recommended that you use hot water to melt the materials. As long as the water temperature is higher than the melting point of the polymer then it will melt.
Yes, all of our polymers are reusable, Simply heat them over their melting point and they will begin to melt again.
Melting larger chunks will take more time. You may need to maintain the high water temperature for a longer duration of time for large pieces to fully melt to the centre. You can melt and tear off the soft surface to speed up this process.
It will naturally stick to most plastics. You should consider this when melting your material as not to use plastic instruments or containers.
If you want to make it stick better to a plastic surface you can roughen/score the contact area and heat the surface.
To make the product more sticky you can heat using a hot air gun and this will certainly make it more likely to stick to plastics.
Yes, you will have to take precaution to ensure that it won't stick to the material you are molding it around or the material you are casting from it. You should always test first. You can use release agent to help with the separation.
Yes, make sure you push the polymer well into the mold to get the most detail as it is not liquid enough to naturally settle into small details. Again, make sure to test the materials adhesion before fully committing.
Yes, our polymers are fully biodegradable. It should fully degrade within 6 months in the right conditions depending on the size of the piece. If in soil conditions for example the bacterial and moisture levels break down the material rapidly.
You may think this will limit the duration you can enjoy your material but it will only degrade in the right conditions. Regular indoor conditions will not lead to the material degrading.
The materials are reusable so there is no need to dispose of them, however if they are disposed of then a clean degrading process will occur.
Yes, most paints will stick to the hard polymers.
